“Born in Lithuania, Neringa Vasiliauskaite is an artist, who is originally educated as a glass painter and exploring the possibilities in working with the fragile, edgy and difficult material, which she now creates at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.

With her current, very puristic works, she takes a distance from a classic traditional stained glass and moves somewhere in the space between strict, clean structured glass objects and light installations. She is inspired by the minimalistic glass facades of a contemporary architecture and denies the materiality concentrating in to perception of her works.
The sensitive, bright color areas are created only by mixing reflections of light. This, with different chemical airbrushed glass (dichroic glass) lets the light go through, and the rest reflects in a compliment colorful light, which by the lighting of a different light sources could be variated in an intensity, brightness and length.

Her works finds a place on a plain walls, which becames just a background for her conceptual light fields. The goal is to confuse the viewer and to encourage his perception to see the works as a whole.
Neringa Vasiliauskaite is concerned in the influence of light, its emptiness and aesthetics, immateriality, reflection and distortion of reality and fiction, how it touches the glass surface, flows through the glass shapes and allows the work itself to disperse the light.“
